You are invited to join the Dual-Use Technologies Summit, taking place February 25–26, 2026, at the Wu Conference Centre at the University of New Brunswick in Fredericton, New Brunswick. This two-day Summit is being organized by the University of New Brunswick, Acadia University, Memorial University, and St. Francis Xavier University, in collaboration with Vimy Forge, with support from Springboard Atlantic.
The Summit is designed to help demystify the Canadian defence and dual-use innovation landscape, particularly for researchers, companies, and organizations exploring engagement in this space for the first time. The program will convene participants from industry, academia, and government from across Atlantic Canada and nationally to explore dual-use applications, commercialization pathways, funding experiences, and policy considerations.
Through keynote presentations, panel discussions, and dedicated networking opportunities, participants will engage in conversations focused on:
-
Understanding dual-use technologies and where opportunities exist
-
Commercialization pathways and funding experiences
-
Applied research programs and industry innovation
-
Engaging domestic and international markets
-
Policy, procurement, and ecosystem considerations related to safety and security
The goal of the Summit is to foster collaboration, develop ideas, and strengthen connections across the regional innovation ecosystem in support of Canada’s safety, security, and economic priorities. An updated agenda and confirmed speakers will be shared in the coming weeks.
Registration is now open, and participants are encouraged to register by February 20, 2026.
