We are pleased to announce Leslie Magee as the new Board Chair of the New Brunswick Innovation Foundation (NBIF). Leslie brings extensive experience in business and investment leadership, positioning her well to support the growth of New Brunswick’s startup ecosystem. As she steps into this role, NBIF recognize the outstanding contributions of outgoing Chair Cathy Simpson.
Since 2015, Cathy has been instrumental in shaping NBIF’s investment strategy, overseeing more than $100 million in direct investments into New Brunswick tech startups. Her leadership helped expand NBIF’s role in venture capital, strengthening support for founders and scaling companies. Cathy’s strategic vision and collaboration with NBIF’s Board, CEO, and funding partners have left a lasting impact on the province’s innovation landscape. She will continue to serve as Board Secretary and Chair of the Human Resources and Nominating Committee until the end of the fiscal year.
