For the ninth year in a row, the University of New Brunswick has been named one of Canada’s Top 100 Employers (2022).
The Globe and Mail announced the top 100 list for 2022 on Nov. 12. UNB is one of four universities to be recognized and is the only university in Atlantic Canada to receive the distinction.
“UNB is proud to be included on the list of Canada’s Top 100 Employers, for the ninth time in 10 years. In particular, this year’s recognition speaks to how resilient the UNB community is,” says Dr. Paul J. Mazerolle, UNB president and vice-chancellor. “Our outstanding faculty and staff consistently go above and beyond to deliver exceptional service to our students. UNB is pleased to offer attractive benefits and opportunities, as well as a great work environment focused on the wellbeing of our people.”
The Canada’s Top 100 Employers list is compiled by Mediacorp Canada Inc. and recognizes employers with exceptional human resources programs and forward-thinking workplace policies. Employers are graded on eight criteria and the list includes detailed reasons for a workplace’s inclusion on the list.
UNB was also named one of Atlantic Canada’s Top Employers in 2021.
“The pandemic has reminded us that human interaction is very much the glue that binds society and a workforce,” says Richard Yerema, managing editor of the Canada’s Top 100 Employers project at Mediacorp. “While it’s clear that much office work can now be done from home, good employers are thinking more deeply about the adverse social and health effects that come from isolation, especially mental health.”
“We thank each and every person for making UNB a Top 100 Employer and for helping us to create a people-centric culture at our institution,” says Dr. Mazerolle.
