TechImpact Celebrates Launch of Tech Connect Southeast

techconnect

TechImpact proudly joined partners and community members in Moncton to celebrate the official launch of Venn Innovation’s Tech Connect Southeast, a new initiative created in partnership with the McKenna Institute at the University of New Brunswick. The program is designed to remove employment barriers and connect job seekers with meaningful opportunities in the tech sector.

Focused on supporting newcomers, underrepresented groups, and individuals without Canadian work experience, Tech Connect Southeast offers a combination of paid work placements, hands-on training, and personalized mentorship. Participants will gain real-world experience while strengthening their digital skill sets, ultimately helping them secure lasting employment in the region.

What sets this program apart is its community-first approach. Each work placement is embedded within a local nonprofit organization, contributing not only to the participant’s career path but also to the digital advancement of the nonprofit sector in southeastern New Brunswick. Over the course of 16 weeks, participants will directly support the technological needs of two nonprofits in the area, making a tangible impact on both the economy and the community.

For TechImpact, Tech Connect Southeast represents a pivotal step forward in building a stronger, more inclusive tech ecosystem. The program creates space for people to network, learn from each other, and grow together, all while accelerating the tech talent of New Brunswick.
