Press Release — TechImpact Announces Publication of Report on NB’s Tech Future

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Fredericton, NB – July 31, 2025 — TechImpact is proud to announce the official release of its latest report, Building NB’s Future: How a Thriving Tech Sector Can Lead the Way. Developed in partnership with economist David Campbell of Jupia Consultants, the report outlines how New Brunswick’s tech industry can serve as a driver of long-term economic growth and resilience.

The initial report was launched at a live event on June 12 at the Cyber Centre in Fredericton, where members of the province’s tech ecosystem gathered to explore its key findings. A follow-up session, hosted online on July 23 by TechImpact CEO Cathy Simpson and Campbell, further unpacked the data and presented actionable recommendations to support the sector’s growth.

“We have had tremendous success in the past 20 years at growing our tech sector and demonstrating the economic impact that comes when you are building and scaling companies from New Brunswick.” said Cathy Simpson. “There is much more potential and a 10-year tech industry plan, more public and private sector collaboration and investments in technology are critical steps for New Brunswick to achieve its economic potential.”

Drawing on past economic patterns and emerging opportunities such as artificial intelligence, the report offers a roadmap to build a thriving tech ecosystem in the province.

“This is just the beginning of a larger conversation on the role of tech in shaping New Brunswick’s economic future,” added Simpson. “We invite business leaders, policymakers, and community partners to review the findings and join us in building the next decade of growth.”
