Doug Sacobie, from Bilijk First Nation, turned his passion for technology into a thriving career in cybersecurity. Doug's interest in technology deepened during the pandemic when he enrolled in JEDI’s Cybersecurity Program. After completing the program, he earned a diploma in Cybersecurity from CCNB, setting the foundation for a successful career in the field.
During his internship with Bulletproof, Doug gained hands-on experience in cybersecurity practices, fueling his passion for protecting individuals and organizations from the dangers of hackers. He now works at Scotiabank as a Cybersecurity Control and Defense Specialist, a critical role in safeguarding sensitive financial systems.
Programs like JEDI’s Indigenous Cybersecurity Training Program offers hands-on training, internships, and connections with leading employers. This initiative prepares participants for meaningful careers in a field that is growing exponentially, ensuring a more secure digital future for all.
