Teamwork and Collaboration

To help individuals advance their careers, Career Foundation, in partnership with Lighthouse Labs, is excited to offer transformative essential skills training courses on Developing your interpersonal skills and learning how to communicate clearly and concisely with essential skills training on communication and public speaking.

This training is available at no cost to eligible applicants thanks to the ICT Boost initiative - a program funded in part by the Government of Canada’s Sectoral Workforce Solutions Program (SWSP).

Eligible participants must be:
- Minimum of 18 years of age
- Currently residing in Canada
- A Canadian Citizen, Permanent Resident or a person who has been granted refugee status in Canada
- Legally entitled to work in Canada (According to the relevant provincial and federal legislation and regulations)

Collaborating in person or with a virtual workplace is becoming a basic competency for all employees. Navigating competing priorities and goals can be one of the hardest things to achieve in a workplace. To foster effective collaboration, team members need to understand themselves and others, manage conflict, solve problems, and make decisions. This course will focus on the development of the essential skill: “working with others”. There will be practical exercises planned throughout the session that will mimic experiences in the workplace setting. they will explore communication styles, professionalism, working with defensive team members, and conflict resolution.

Expected Learning Outcomes: By the end of this course, participants will:
- Know how to seek and accept direction from team members
- Be aware of techniques to work effectively as members of a team
- Know the importance of collaborating with different personalities, strengths and skills
- Have strategies to seek out, receive and give feedback in the most effective ways

Upon successful completion of the course, you will receive a certificate.
