A Conversation with Charlie O'Donnell

Written by CollabHub | Oct 29, 2026, 3:48:19 PM

Join Charlie O'Donnell, author of Founder Unfriendly and one of New York's most respected venture capitalist voices, for a candid virtual conversation on startups, fundraising, and what investors are really looking for.

Charlie was the first analyst at Union Square Ventures, helped establish First Round Capital's New York office, and later founded Brooklyn Bridge Ventures, the first venture capital fund based in Brooklyn. The venture firms and startup communities he helped build and support were early backers of companies such as Twitter, Etsy, Coinbase, Stripe, Uber, Duolingo, and Notion, giving him a front-row seat to the growth of some of the world's most influential technology companies.

In this informal Q&A session, Charlie will share insights from Founder Unfriendly, challenge common startup myths, and offer an honest look at how investors evaluate founders, ideas, and opportunities.
